Welcome to all our online parishioners.

RETURN TO THE PUBLIC CELEBRATION OF MASS AND THE SACRAMENTS

GUIDELINE FROM THE BISHOP

The provisions in this document will prove to be challenging. If these are satisfied, then public worship can resume on June 29th. People who are vulnerable or unwell are asked to stay at home and if possible, participate via webcam, social media, television or radio.

  • The return to public celebration of Mass and the Sacraments commences on June 29th. This will be a source of joy and hope to our parish community.

  • Parishes should at all times follow the most up-to-date public health advice especially as regards physical distancing, good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette and regular cleaning and sanitising of shared spaces and signage.

  • Public health considerations should not in any way compromise the integrity of the liturgy and every effort should be made to support active participation and prayerful and joyful celebration. The Bishops ask us to note the following:-

The dispensation from the Sunday and Holy Daly obligation is extended for the time being. Many parishioners may wish to attend Mass on a week-day rather than at weekends.

In the interests of physical distancing, parishes may wish, for the time being, to limit music ministry to a single cantor and a single instrumentalist.

The procession for people approaching for Holy Communion should be carefully planned.

Communion should be received only on the hand

Priests and Ministers of Holy Communion should visibly sanitise their hands before and after the distribution of Communion.

It is recomended that Priests and Ministers should wear face-coverings while distributing Communion

6th Class As you have come to the end of your primary school year and even though you have missed a lot in the last few months, reflect on the positive experiences that God has gifted you with, e.g. your Confirmation,  your friendships. Compose a prayer of thanksgiving and ask for guidance as you face the future. Write it out, decorate it and hang it in a prominent place at home. Our Churches are open, call in and say a prayer.

Mass :With no congregations in the churches at the weekends, and no collections, offerings for the running of the parish have reduced considerably. At this difficult time, the parish continues to incur costs including basic salary for the parish priest, insurance, maintenance, electricity etc.. This is a difficult time for everyone, and we completely understand that some parishioners are suffering a drop in their incomes..

Many thanks to all that have dropped their envelopes into the parochial house and those who have contributed electronicaly into our bank account, also to those who continue to pay by standing order.

We ask where it is possible to make some contribution by either

leaving your envelopes in the letterbox in the Parochial house, or
by electronic payment into our Bank - Bank of Ireland - Kilskyre Church Account -
BIC BOFIIE2D. IBAN IE31 BOFI 90 34 45 25116085.

Prayer

Today is our celebration that Jesus is present always with us, in signs we can recognise but not understand.  It is a feast of the mystery of his presence, always close to his people
